ChangeUp is an England wide programme of capacity building for the infrastructure of the voluntary and community sector, developed in partnership with the sector. The aim of ChangeUp investment is to catalyse the modernisation of infrastructure provision in order to improve its sustainability, quality and reach. Led by sector expertise, the Capacitybuilders agency manages ChangeUp nationally.

On Greater Merseyside there is a consortium of 16 infrastructure or support providing organisations that work together to improve things like information, advice, guidance and training for voluntary, community and faith groups. These groups and organisations exist to achieve the best results for the people, communities and places of interest that they serve. ChangeUp exists to enable CVS, Volunteer Centres and other providers of development support to do the best they can in meeting the current needs of the organisations and groups that serve the population of Greater Merseyside.

Greater Merseyside ChangeUp commissioned GRIPP on behalf of all its members to give all groups and organisations an opportunity to reflect upon their current situation. GRIPP is also designed to help people think about which aspects of their current situation could be improved and then signpost to support organisations who may be able to help with that improvement.
